History

Corner of Time opened the doors for business in 1992. The building was originally built about 1909 and was almost always some form of furniture store. In 2002, the building underwent extensive renovations that took 13 months. It was completed in October 2003. Many visitors come to see the historic buildings in downtown Bryan, Texas and this building is one that is always on the tour. It is one of the few that has stayed true to the original historic form. Old photos were researched in order to restore it historically correct. The Texas Historic Society was consulted to use the most gentle means and as little as possible was replaced. This was a labor of love. Some before and after photos have been posted so that you too, can see the results!

After careful research,
the original roof design was
returned to the building using
the same type of brick from another historic building that had been torn down.

All that was needed to bring out the beautiful design of the original tin ceiling was a fresh coat of paint. The brass light fixtures came out of the old Wellborn school house. It was torn down long ago, but the fixtures were salvaged.
